Free Reading Program

The Free Reading Program is a free online literacy program that began with the Rotary Club of Scarborough. Since its launch, the program has earned recognition and awards at all levels of Rotary, within District 7070 and the Zone. It was developed by The Education & Community Learning Centre (ECLC), which is a registered non-profit based in Florida. The program is promoted and sponsored primarily through Rotary Clubs and the ECLC is spreading the word through libraries, community organizations and service clubs.

The mission of the program is to provide free, high quality educational resources for students in the United States, Canada and around the world through online learning. It is free for students in need and sponsored by donors who want to help make a change for youth. The program provides K-6 learners with a comprehensive online studying tool, designed to reinforce fundamental reading skills. With over 3,500 activities accessible online, the program is used by over 330,000 students in 185 countries. From new English learners, to students looking for something to curb summertime learning loss, anyone is welcome to give the program a try.
