Jennifer Carroll | Maud of Leaskdale {July 4th}

In October 2011 the Lucy Maud Montgomery Society of Ontario commissioned a one woman show about LM Montgomery and the 15 years she spent in Leaskdale. The show portrayed Maud’s first years in Ontario, when she became a new wife and mother, and where she wrote 11 of her 22 novels. It was a time of simple joys and heartrending tragedies, brought to life through Montgomery’s own powerful words. “Maud of Leaskdale” was then picked up for a full summer season in 2012. After it was received so well that summer, the LMMSO remounted the play for the 2013 summer season.
